Free entrance in shop and museum.
Accessibility
The Shellmuseum Amsterdam is located in the basement and bell floor of an ancient Amsterdam house. Both floors are reached by short stairs. Unfortunately we have no elevator. The museum is therefore not easy accessible for disabled persons.

Getting here
The Shellmuseum Amsterdam is located in the hart of the Shipping Quarters of Amsterdam; the neighbourhood where merchant ships in the 17th century sailed off and on.
Public transport
TRAM 26
From the Centraal Station Amsterdam take tram 26 direction IJburg. Take of at stop Rietlanden. From here you stroll three minutes, underpassing the railway, from were you’ll find the museum directly at your left.
TRAM 7
Tram 7 drives from Amsterdam-west to the eastern part of the city. Take of at stop 1e Leeghwaterstraat.
METRO
Metrolines 51, 53 en 54. Take off at stop Weesperplein. Here you can change to tramline 7 direction Azartplein. Take off at stop 1e Leeghwaterstraat.
TRAIN
- Amsterdam Centraal Station change to tramline 26.
- Amsterdam station Muiderpoort, stroll in +/- 15 minuten to The Shellmuseum Amsterdam.
Car
Allthough The Shellmuseum is located in the centre of Amsterdam, there’s still enough parking place in the direct surroundings.
Parking fees are €3,00 per hour.
